Rainy Season Activities

Rainy Season Blues

Now that the rains are picking up and the skies start looking more and more gloomy, it would seem that this would really put a damper on your vacation plans. WRONG!

Im here with a list of fun things you can do right here in T&T during this rainy season!

Visit the National Museum

I know a lot of locals (myself included) have never been to the National Museum and Art Gallery and I just might have to add it to my JAVA (July/August Vacation) bucket list.

"The National Museum and Art Gallery was established originally as the Royal Victoria Institute (RVI) in 1892 in commemoration of the Jubilee of Queen Victoria and as part of a general British Colonial policy to build cultural institutes throughout the commonwealth.

This is a general museum that as a permanent collection of over 10,000 items. Many of these are displayed in seven major galleries. - Art, Social History, Natural History, Economic History, Petroleum and Geology. Apart from the art gallery, the museum also hose a small gallery by famous nineteenth century artist Michel Jean Cazabon."

Bedrock Mini Golf and Game Centre

This semi-hidden gem is location along the Saddle Road in Maraval. It is one if not the only Mini Golf course in the country and boasts of an impressive 19 hole entertainment. They also offer indoor gaming activities that include: Karaoke, billiards, board games, interactive video games and even a 15ft above ground pool.
A fun place for the entire family. Kids can have a blast while the adults grab a drink!

U-Pick Farms

UPick Vegetable Farm is a fun dining experience located in Tucker Valley, Carenage. They offer a farm to table experience with their homegrown vegetables being the star of the show! A fun brunch idea for friends looking for something different.

Take a Pottery Class

This is something I have always wanted to do! In doing some research I noticed a couple local pottery studios that offer classes. Veronica's Pottery Studio is one such location where they offer workshops and can even facilitate couple's dates, team building exercises or just a fun family outing! Some others I came across include: Create-with-me and Ajoupa Pottery
