The Queen's Park Swizzle
The hotel bar at the Queen's Park Hotel was said to be one of the grandest during its prime in the 1920's. This hotel was the star of Trinidad during the 20's where everyone made a point of staying!One of the many great things to come out of the Queen's Park Hotel would have to be The Queen's Park Swizzle. This tall, boozy concoction was created in 1946 and was said to be "the most delightful form of anesthesia given out today" - Trader Vic
Let's head to the bar as I share with you the original recipe for the legendary Queen's Park Swizzle

Ingredients:
- 2 oz Angostura Dark Rum (7-year is ideal)
- 1 oz Demerara simple syrup
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 8-12 fresh mint leaves
- 6-8 dashes of Angostura Aromatic Bitters
- Garnish: Mint sprig
- Glass: Highball
Method:
- Build drink in a highball glass
- Muddle mint leaves in lime juice and simple syrup
- Full glass with dry, crushed ice
- Pour rum over crushed ice and swizzle well until glass is ice-cold and frosted
- Fill glass with more ice and top with Aromatic Bitters and garnish
